110 - - Janelli_1960@hotmail.com - Found: Box of old Taylor family photos in Colorado train depot. They appear to be the photos of Elpha Taylor's family and friends from Nebraska. Elpha's father was James A. Taylor--died Jan. 1,1892; mother Charlotte Watson Taylor of Pawnee City, Nebraska. Elpha married Clarence Bozzel Watkins in Denver, Colorado on March 1st, 1908. Do you know these people? I would love to give the photos and paper clippings back to the rightful Taylor ancestors

109 - - Mark10011@aol.com - RE: JAMES DIXON TAYLOR Greetings--I've just launched an avocation that is as time-consuming as it is rewarding: genealogy. I've traced my lines in all directions, with one major wall: my paternal grandfather. What I know isn't much, but I'm hoping and praying that someone might lead me in fruitful directions... My grandfather married Mary Adams of Gadsden, Alabama, in the 1920s. They had three children, all boys, in the following order: James Dixon Taylor, b. 1920 in Alabama, probably Etowah County LIVING Taylor, b. 1921, ditto Clark Adams Taylor, b. 11/20/25, in Clearwater, Florida My father was Clark Adams Taylor. His father died when he was 3 years old; therefore, probably in 1928. I understand that the death took place in Milton, Florida. My grandfather reportedly was a probate judge and land surveyor. He and his family were in Florida due to my grandfather's work. My grandmother returned to Alabama with the casket and 3 little boys. She sent the body of my grandfather on to Tennessee, where he had been born and raised. We heard very little or nothing about my grandfather while I was growing up. I assume my grandfather's name could have been that of my uncle, his firstborn: James Dixon Taylor. There was also a Comer line in my grandfather's ancestry. Does any of this ring any bells, whatsoever? Could you possibly take the time to steer me in the right directions?

105 - - matzko@erols.com - Hi, I am trying to locate information on my ancestors, the Charles G. Taylor family of Williamsburg (Whitley County), KY. Charles, my great-great grandfather, was born app. 1850 in Knox County, KY to William Robert Taylor and Sely Taylor. He served as an indentured apprentice to a tavern keeper starting in 1859. Then, abt. 1870, Charles married Mary Catherine Potts in Rockcastle County, KY. Abt. 1890, they moved to Williamsburg, KY, where Charles worked as a butcher and they had the following children: Robert (b. 1872), Ben (b. 1875), James (b. 1878), Monroe, Alice, Odah (b. 1880), Pearl (b. 1883), Nola (b. 1887) and Lena (b. 1891 or 1892.) I last found Charles in the 1900 KY census at Williamsburg, but cannot trace him after that time period. I do know his sons, Ben and James, ran a grocery on Main Street in Williamsburg, but that is pretty much about it.

94 - - mlawless@nickenskeeton.com - I am a descendant of William McClem (or McClenden)Taylor (b. 4-15-1800, Martin Co., NC; d. 4-1-1892, Milam Co., TX; md. (1) Sarah ("Sally") Banks and (2) Cynthia Ann Peters nee Cargill). An 1893 biography of McClem in "History of Texas" indicates that McClem's father was Richard Taylor (b. abt. 1773, NC; d. 1840, Martin Co., NC; md. unknown), who "became a large planter there, accumulating much property in land and slaves." McClem was purportedly the third of six children of Richard Taylor. Who were Richard's parents? One source indicates that his father was John, and grandfather John. On the other hand, Bill Linder's notes indicate that Richard Taylor (b. abt. 1760) may have had a son named Richard (b. 1773) who had a son named McClenden. But, this would have made the first Richard 13 at the time of the second Richard's birth. Great work with the website, but this is all very confusing. Can anyone help?

64 - - charlenetaylor@mac.com - My husband (a descendant of William Taylor through Pleasant Green Taylor and his son Joseph Lake Taylor) recently returned from attending the June 2003 Taylor Reunion in Nauvoo as well as a June 28, 2003 Joseph Lake Taylor Reunion in Grant, Idaho, which was attended by approximately 200 Taylors. The Joseph Lake Taylor family group is planning on publishing a "life and times" type of book about the 12 children (and their descendants) of Joseph Lake Taylor and Nancy Elizabeth McEntire sometime in the next two years. A rep for each of the 12 branches of this family has been chosen, but we know there is a lot of work to do on compiling family photos and writing bios of each of the 12 children. I volunteered to edit this book. Any suggestions about how to proceed would be much appreciated. I have no aspirations to attempt anything as mammoth as Shari Franke's volumes. [Laird and I stopped to talk with her in Ogden on the way back home to Texas where we live.] We also spent time with an 82 year old granddaughter of Joseph Lake Taylor. She is very concerned about our not dropping the ball with regard to the McEntire / Pritchett lines of Nancy Elizabeth McEntire. Is anyone out there working on MC ENTIRE or PRITCHETT ancestral research? Thanks for any help you can offer!
