62 - - Scoty57@aol.com - Dear All: I am the great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandson of James Taylor. He was born at Castle Pennington, Carlisle England in 1615. Supposedly his family came over with William the Conqueror. James came to the new world in 1635 passed on in 1698. Our family thinks he is the first Taylor in the Americas. One of his sons was John Taylor 1696 to 1780 then Edmund Taylor 1723 to 1808 then Lewis Taylor 1751 to 1820 then Charles Taylor 1774 to 1847 then John Turner Taylor 1807 to 1838 then William Fletcher Taylor (Col. CAS ) 1835 to 1917 then Ford Newton Taylor 1874 to 1964 then Ford Newton Taylor, Jr. 1904 to 1993 ( RADM USN Aviator USNA Class of '26). His daughter is my mother. We started out in Virginia then to the Carolinas and then to Tennesee. Hope this helps with your studies.

Her father, WILLIAM EDWARD TAYLOR, was born in GA in 1882 -- do not know his parents' names but do know they both died in the "flu epidemic" of 1918 in Holmes Co, FL or Geneva Co, AL. "WILL" married FLOSSIE LENA MOULTON in Geneva AL around 1908. He taught school in Esto, FL in the 1920's and died in Graceville, FL in 1938.
