From “Family History of the Joseph Taylor, Jr. and Sarah Best Family”
By Shari H. Franke

Leona Celeste White, daughter of Hezekiah White and Mary Ann Elizabeth Hudnall, was born 13 January 1857, at Warren County, Kentucky.

She married her 2nd Cousin, Reverend Jeremiah Taylor Cherry, 29 February 1876 at Woodbury, Butler, Kentucky. "An uncle, Wesley Hudnall, who was a Unitarian minister, performed the ceremony. They tell the story on Papa (Jeremiah T.) that, since he didn't want to seem too anxious, he delayed his trip for two hours and was late for the wedding. He was riding on 'horseback since the February roads were too muddy for a buggy."

Jeremiah Taylor Cherry was born 29 February 1852, at Warren County, Kentucky. He was the oldest son of George Washington Cherry and Martha Frances Stahl. (George Washington Cherry was a son of William Cherry, Jr. and Frances Taylor.)

They had ten children: Ira Ithiel; Ariel Clarence; Zephaniah Thaddeus; Ulalia Roxanna; Mary Martha; David Eleanor; Nell Grace; Elizabeth Elliot; Katherine Celeste and Frances Williard Cherry.

Leona Celeste was a great favorite with all of the Cherry brothers. She was a very supportive wife and lovely mother. Leona Celeste died 30 November 1944 at Bowling Green, Warren, Kentucky. Jeremiah Taylor Cherry died 25 June 1936, at Elkton, Todd, Kentucky. They were both buried at the Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, Warren, Kentucky.
