By Shari H. Franke

Mary Ann Taylor was born 22 March 1818, near Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky. Her parents were William Taylor and Elizabeth Patrick. She was about 12 years old when she left Kentucky and went to Monroe County, Missouri with her parents and family.

She married (1) 20 May 1834, Robert McCord, at Monroe County, Missouri. She married (2) November 1839, Jordon P. Hendrickson, probably at Hancock County, Illinois. Mary Ann died 5 September 1842, when she only 24 years old, at Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, and was buried at Nauvoo. Her life appears to have been very similar to her Aunt Mary Ann Taylor Cherry Upton's life, whom she was also named for.

Robert McCord was born 11 October 1811, at Christian County, Kentucky. He was the son of James McCord and Elizabeth Barnett. Robert McCord joined Zion's Camp, with the Prophet Joseph Smith, and marched with them to western Missouri. He died at Clay County, Missouri, on 24 June 1834, of the cholera. Robert McCord and Mary Ann Taylor were married for only one month. They had no children.

Jordon P. Hendrickson, born 9 January 1809, at Washington County, Kentucky. He was the son of Simeon Hendrickson and Keziab Paddocks. Jordon married (2) 12 March 1843, Frances Kelly, after Mary Ann died. it isn't known when or where Jordon died.

Jordon P. Hendrickson and Mary Ann Taylor were married for almost three years, and they had one son, Simeon.
