Hubert Criddle Burton, M.D. (1924-2000)

Hubert, or "H.C.," was born 17 Aug 1924 in Kaysville, Utah to Hubert Charles Burton and Millie Criddle Burton. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned as an Ensign June 5, 1946. He married Elaine Nelson the next day in the Naval Academy Chapel. Their marriage was later sealed in the Logan Temple. After service on the U.S.S. Princeton, H.C. attended medical school at the University of Utah and completed his residency at the Public Health Service Hospital in Seattle, Washington. He returned to Utah and specialized in internal medicine and cardiology for 40 years. He also served as Regional Flight Surgeon for the Federal Aviation Administration and Medical Directory for Surety Life Insurance Company. He died 14 Apr 2000 at his home in Bountiful, Davis, Utah after a battle with cancer. He was survived by six children and twenty grandchildren. Burial 19 Apr at Lakeview Memorial Estates in Bountiful. Dr. Burton was a grandson of James Criddle & Elizabeth Jane Dawson. James was the son of John Criddle & Elizabeth Ann Taylor (Driggs).
