Richard "Dick" Smith Hobbs (1915-2001)

Dick passed away on 16 Aug 2001 in Highland Health Center, Salt Lake City.

He was born 3 March 1915 in Preston, Idaho, a son of William and Reta Hobbs.

He grew up in Preston and Malad, Idaho and married 14 Jul 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

"Dick" spent 42 years with the J.C. Penney Company where he managed stores in Idaho, Wyoming and Utah, retiring in Logan. He also served in many civic and service organizations during his business career. He was an avid "Aggie" fan for many years and also enjoyed the game of golf, a love which he passed on to his grandsons. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in various callings.

He was survived by his wife of 65 years, one daughter, two sons, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Burial was 20 Aug 2001 in the Malad, ID City Cemetery.
