100 - snarkyologist@yahoo.com - I am looking for a line of taylor ancestors going back from Francis Taylor b July 13, 1862 in Lima, Adams Co. IL. He married Margaret Clapper. I know their decendants (my great grandpa was named Orley Ottes "Doc" Taylor b Aug 1, 1890), and know that her ancestors. His parents were Daniel Taylor born in OH possibly in 1833 and Elizabeth Owry (questionably spelling) born in PA possibly in 1828. From there Daniels parents might have been named Thomas and Margaret. That's all anyone has found after several years of looking. A big THANK YOU to anyone who has any information to share about these taylors. We've been looking for info on them for a while now but without success. Thanks Again,

99 - j_bryant2@yahoo.com - I am distantly related to the Taylor family through 3 of Pleasant Green's children and their marriages to my GG-Grandfather's three McEntire children. 94 - mlawless@nickenskeeton.com - I am a descendant of William McClem (or McClenden)Taylor (b. 4-15-1800, Martin Co., NC; d. 4-1-1892, Milam Co., TX; md. (1) Sarah ("Sally") Banks and (2) Cynthia Ann Peters nee Cargill). An 1893 biography of McClem in "History of Texas" indicates that McClem's father was Richard Taylor (b. abt. 1773, NC; d. 1840, Martin Co., NC; md. unknown), who "became a large planter there, accumulating much property in land and slaves." McClem was purportedly the third of six children of Richard Taylor. Who were Richard's parents? One source indicates that his father was John, and grandfather John. On the other hand, Bill Linder's notes indicate that Richard Taylor (b. abt. 1760) may have had a son named Richard (b. 1773) who had a son named McClenden. But, this would have made the first Richard 13 at the time of the second Richard's birth. Great work with the website, but this is all very confusing. Can anyone help?

64 - charlenetaylor@mac.com - My husband (a descendant of William Taylor through Pleasant Green Taylor and his son Joseph Lake Taylor) recently returned from attending the June 2003 Taylor Reunion in Nauvoo as well as a June 28, 2003 Joseph Lake Taylor Reunion in Grant, Idaho, which was attended by approximately 200 Taylors.

The Joseph Lake Taylor family group is planning on publishing a "life and times" type of book about the 12 children (and their descendants) of Joseph Lake Taylor and Nancy Elizabeth McEntire sometime in the next two years. A rep for each of the 12 branches of this family has been chosen, but we know there is a lot of work to do on compiling family photos and writing bios of each of the 12 children.

I volunteered to edit this book. Any suggestions about how to proceed would be much appreciated. I have no aspirations to attempt anything as mammoth as Shari Franke's volumes. [Laird and I stopped to talk with her in Ogden on the way back home to Texas where we live.]

We also spent time with an 82 year old granddaughter of Joseph Lake Taylor. She is very concerned about our not dropping the ball with regard to the McEntire / Pritchett lines of Nancy Elizabeth McEntire.

Is anyone out there working on MC ENTIRE or PRITCHETT ancestral research? Thanks for any help you can offer!

52 - davecarl@bellsouth.net - We have a Thomas Taylor born October 1823 in Lexington District, South Carolina. He came to Baldwin County, Alabama and in 1850 married (1) Eugenia Cain, daughter of Randall Cain. They had four children: 1. Laura Susan Taylor, born c. 1851 in Alabama. She died young. 2. Josephine Margaret Taylor, born c. 1854 in Alabama, married Reuben David McConnell 1 March 1871. She died 26 January 1897 in Baldwin County, Alabama. 3. Thomas Walker Taylor, born 13 May 1856 in Alabama, died 21 October 1939. 4. Hiram Columbus Taylor, born 7 September 1857 in Alabama. Died 2 June 1943. Thomas married a second time to Annetta J. White and they had 8 children. We need to know who were the parents of Thomas Taylor, b. 1823 in Lexington District, SC. I had a genealogist from there tell me there were four separate and unrelated Taylors from Lexington. Unfortunately, the person who knew about these families was unable to help us due to some family illnesses and problems. Does anyone have a Thomas who fits this description? Thanks for your consideration. December 2002.
