Nell Sargent
1938 - 2015

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Nell was born in Panguitch, Utah to James Mason Sargent, Jr. and Leah Showalter Sargent. She grew up in the Panguitch and Cedar City area before settling in Tooele, Utah to raise her family. Nell loved her children and grandchildren above all, and believed being a mom and grandma was her greatest calling. She was very devoted to her family and friends.

Nell was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. She especially loved working with the scouts and young women. Her pranks at young women's camp are infamous to this day. Nell lived and exemplified a life of selfless service and many lives were blessed by her generosity.

Mom was an avid Utah Jazz fan and enjoyed horseback riding, crocheting, quilting, and didn't miss an episode of Dancing with the Stars (Team Derek!). She was the world's greatest taffy maker and a master at the art of toilet papering.

Survived by 1 brother, 1 Sister, 4 Children, 7 Grandchildrenr and 2 Great Grandchildren also Grandpets - Betsy, Layla and Cabo.

Preceded in death by parents; brother Victor J Sargent; Sisters Mame and Leah Sargent.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at CareSource. Also, a special thanks to Bishop David Derksen and Dr. Douglas Newbold for their love and continual support. Thank you to all extended family and friends who brightened mom's life.

Graveside services Tuesday, April 7th, 2015 at 12:00 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S. Friends called from 10:00-11:45 am. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.

Mom, you are very much loved and will be missed, but we know you are riding the mountain range on Old Bill!
