One of the Most Beloved Women of Community Succumbed to Long
andPainful
Suffering--
Mrs. Columbia Hill died on Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock
atWoodbury, of
cancer of the bowels, after being in an unconscious condition
forforty-eight
hours. She had been in poor health for five months.
The deceased was the widow of Mr. Thomas Hill, and is survived bysix
children: Mrs. Josephine Henley, of Illinois; Mrs. William
Goodall,of Little
Muddy, Butler County; Miss Maude Hill, of Woodbury; Robert Hill,
ofthe United
States Army; Eunie and Frank Hill, of Woodbury; two brothers, J.
K.White, who
resides on East Chestnut Street, and Charles White, of Oklahoma
City;six
sisters, Mrs. Jane Dearing, who resides on Scott Street, and who is
ina
critical condition; Mrs. J. W. Cole, who lives on Center Street;
Mrs.J. W.
Cherry, of Calhoun; Mrs. B. E. Norris, of Morgantown; Mrs.
FannieSpencer, of
Woodbury.
Mrs. Hill was one of the oldest and best beloved women in
hervicinity, and
for many years had been a consistent member of the Methodist Church.
The funeral services were conducted from Mt. Pisgah by Rev. B.
S.Harper,
pastor of the Bowling Green Circuit, after which the interment
wasmade in the
church graveyad."
