"MRS ELROD IS TAKEN BY DEATH--
Succumbs at Home on Nashville Road after Short Illness--
Mrs. Connie White Elrod, 73, wife of Wyatt W. Elrod, died at
7:20o'clock
this morning at her home on the Nashville road following a
shortillness.
Hour of the funeral has not been set awaiting the arrival of
membersof the
family. Services will be conducted at the residence by the Rev.
G.Russell
Ireland, pastor of the Kerr Memorial Methodist church, of which
Mrs.Elrod was
a member. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
Mrs. Elrod was born in Warren county June 23, 1870, a daughter
ofHezekiah
and Mary Ann Hudnall White.
She was married to Mr. Elrod Feb. 20, 1870 at Little Muddy,
Butlercounty.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
RoyH. Mays,
Lexington; three sons, Taylor L. Elrod, Tulsa; Buren R. Elrod,
PlumSprings
Road, and W. Stanley Elrod, Nashville road, and three
grandchildren,Mrs.
Howard Hanks, Lexington; Sgt. Roy H. Mays, Jr., Pratt, Kan.,
andTaylor L.
Elrod, Jr., Tulsa. Mrs. Elrod is also survived by two sisters,
Mrs.J. T.
Cherry, New Market, Ala, and Mrs. Robert Morris, Little Muddy, and
onebrother,
J. K. White, Paducah.
Mrs. Elrod had been in poor health since January but had been
ableto be out
until the first of the week."
