Note: According to Ted Taylor, Douglas left his home in Howell Co,
MOwhen
he was 14 yrs old (abt 1876) because he didn't want to go to
churchwith his
family, so his father sent him to the pasture to bring the horses
in.That is
when he left, working his way to Texas.
