to China for the LDS Church. Hosea was called on his mission
Aug.1852, and he
arrived in Hong Kong 27 Apr. 1853.
He served in the Black Hawk Indian War. He was a Colonel in
theNauvoo Legion.
He was named to be the first City Attorney in St. George, UT, and
wasalso
made an Attorney General for the U. S. in 1862, appointed by President
Abraham Lincoln and named to be a Legislator, for the State of
Deseret(Utah)
in 1862. A founder of St. George, Washington, UT.

26May 1848
with the Brigham Young Company. They arrived in the Salt Lake
