referred to a time when he was about 8 years old. (1835) His
bro.William was
very sick of a fever (his father and family had just been driven
outof Jackson
Co. Mo.) and his neighbors advised him to call for a Dr. and

sent for a Dr. He came and left medicine but his father Wm
Taylorthrowed all of
it into the fire and called his family to unite with him in
prayerafter which
he anointed his son with oil and administered to the sick and he
washealed
immediately."

of New Harmony and was local post-mistress for 25 yrs, finally

relinquish this position from loss of her eyesight. She taught
schoolin what
is now New Harmony; she taught in her own home.
