Note: Jonathon died of dropsy.
He was a self-taught doctor. He set broken bones and did surgery
sowell and so
often that he was given a diploma, stamped and sealed to show that
hewas a full
fledged doctor even though he had had no schooling in this profession.
Note: Nancy Jane Taylor and Jonathon Smith came to the Salt
LakeValley with
the Heber C. Kimball Company, 2nd Division, under Isaac Higbee.

29 May 1848. They arrived in Salt Lake 23 Sep 1848.
